About Chris Clark
Chris was born and raised on a family farm in rural Illinois where he learned the values of hard work, responsibility, community, and environmental protection at an early age. He attended local public schools and was selected at age 16 to serve as one of a few dozen Pages for the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, DC. Chris then moved to the Bay Area to attend Stanford University and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science, secondary major in International Relations, and a minor in Economics.
Chris has broad work experience that spans private and public sectors throughout the world. After working at the Stanford Alumni Association during college to help pay his way through school, he rotated through several assignments at the U.S. State Department in Germany. Next, Chris joined AT&T’s flagship Leadership Development Program in which he managed union and non-union employees, developed long and short-term corporate strategy, helped launch the iPhone, and led regional community service initiatives across three major cities. Today, Chris is the Senior Operations Manager at a local Mountain View startup and an active Mountain View resident.
Community service has always been a top priority for Chris. He has volunteered at HIV/AIDS prevention and support organizations, organized regional events for Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, and United Way, and volunteered at local homeless shelters. He also served as a Residential Counselor at Stanford University.
As an avid runner, Chris frequents local recreational trails such as the Stevens Creek Trail and is a strong advocate for improving Mountain View’s biker and pedestrian friendliness. He is also a renter and has experienced firsthand the high cost of living and barriers to home ownership many local residents face. By serving on City Council, Chris hopes to share his experience, leadership, innovative ideas, and commitment to public service in an effort to make Mountain View an even better place to live, work, and raise our families.
